The Bloomberg news article 'U.S. Unable to Deport Most Illegal Immigrants Who Commit Crimes' illustrates the real world impact of our government's failure to secure our borders and create an immigration system that possesses even a modicum of integrity. The price, indeed, all too often the ultimate price, is being paid by decent people including law enforcement officers who are being injured and killed by illegal aliens who should not even be in the United States in the first place. Dead is dead! An individual who is killed by a criminal alien is no less dead than is the victim of a terrorist attack. Job one for our country and its leaders is to insure the safety of our citizens. That effort begins at our nation's borders and with the immigration system that is supposed to deter criminals from entering our country and preying on innocent victims. When deterrence fails, then our government needs to resources and the resolve to apprehend those who violate our laws and remove them from our midst.

Let me make this as clear as I can. Our nation's borders barely represent a speed bump to millions of illegal aliens who simply want to work in violation of law in the United States. How much of a deterrent would those borders be to terrorists who are determined to enter our country to attack us? Additionally, our immigration bureaucracy is so inept and incompetent that according to the GAO, last year USCIS claims to have lost more than 111,000 immigration files relating to aliens seeking a wide variety of immigration benefits including some 30,000 who applied for United States citizenship. Incredibly USCIS adjudicated those critical applications without the relating files!

The administration and members of the Senate recently pushed for a Guest Worker Amnesty Program in the guise of a benign procedure that would have granted official identity documents to millions of illegal and undocumented aliens whose nationalities as well as their names are unknown and unverifiable. Fortunately this bill is dead - for now - but I am concerned that Ted Kennedy and his cohorts on Capitol Hill may well try to resurrect this bill yet again. I came to refer to the last version of this bill as the "Terrorist Assistance and Facilitation Act of 2007."

There are so many ways that terrorists can easily circumvent our nearly nonexistent efforts at securing our border, that I understand why Chertoff seems to believe that we cannot stop the bad guys from entering our country. This is not the way it can or should be! Our borders should have been secured after the first attack on the World Trade Center in 1993. The Visa Waiver Program needed to be terminated after the attacks of 9/11. Instead, President Bush, Former Secretary of Homeland Security Tom Ridge and the other current and former members of the administration have been clamoring for an expansion of the disastrous Visa Waiver Program!

Our nation currently permits corporations to make national security decisions for the United States. As a consequence of this lunacy, "We the People" may pay for this with our lives. Our government is supposed to be "Of the people and for the people" yet, apparently, this is not the case.

We the People need to make our concerns heard in Washington. It is time to remind the members of Congress that they work for us! If only 14% of the American people approve of the way that Congress does its job, then it is time that the 86% who do not approve call their senators and members of the House of Representatives tomorrow morning!

Of course Cheney claims he is not part of the Legislative Staff, he in not part of anything in our government. He is a fraud, as are the rest of our Representatives in Washington DC. Now they want to give illegal aliens Social Security benefits, after they tell me/us, that we on Social Security are destroying the finances of America. Well in fact we are, Congress took our Social Security donations the last 40 years and spent it all. The money is gone, so what they are doing is to take money from the workers now employed (on very low wages anymore) to give to us as our benefits. So now you have a lot of $7 to $10/hr employees paying in minimal Social Security contributions, so they can pay us. Not people making $18 to $25/hr wages. Those jobs are mostly gone. Congress tells us that inflation is about 2% a year, yet my calculations find that inflation is 7%/yr. In 1982 the government claimed inflation from 1966 to 1982 was 260%, that's when I had to change jobs in order to raise my income level.
My employer then had given us a 1% raise in 7 years. Now employers give you minimum wage, and act like they appreciate you. When you get to making the huge income of $10/hr, they will lay you off, and offer to rehire you again at minimum wage. (Circuit City)
So what do we do? Stop all imports from China, Stop all imports from Mexico, Stop giving any nation financial help. Promise any nation that even gives us a dirty look that they will cease to exist totally. It is time for America to stop being scared of these bastards. Damage America and it will be the last thing you will ever do as a nation.

I love this nation and our citizens, I will protect us, and we will again be the proud nation we have been before.

Our Senate doesn't have the guts to deport Illegal Aliens, they didn't have the guts to do it in 1986, they don't have to guts to do it now. So we are invaded by Hispanics who claim they are not here to become Americans, they are here to take us over. I will not let that happen.

Fifty percent of my ancestors were Quakers who came to America starting in 1660, many were from Nantucket, MA and were Whalers. Other ancestors of mine were descended from King Edward I, and on back to Charlemagne. Makes me descended from King John and some of the Barons of the Magna Charta, the basis of all American law. The Barons made King John acknowledge that citizens had certain basic rights. President Bush though places himself beyond those laws.
